613 Yen!! (post in progress but posting it anyway as its been in progress since December!! Much love!)

Notice the total, 613 Yen!!!

 there is  the receipt!

As promised there is a challah in this post, inside the The Blossoming Challah bag!

(note: still catching-up,  drafted in mid-December, and finally posting now!...and yes, it does contain challah!.. and pomegranates!)

1.  613 Yen!
I had a `convenience store lunch` yesterday! I was on the way to my voice training lesson and often stop at the convenience store there for coffee, and maybe an onigiri (Japanese popular item, rice ball!).  Yesterday when paying at the cash register, the cashier rung up the items.  She asked if I needed a bag, and I said no thank you, I will eat -in here.  She informed me  that there will be a change in price  for eat-in.  I didn`t know that even though I have often sat and had eat-in there!  From how she said it I didn`t understand if it meant the price was going to be less or more.  At first I even thought `less` since we save a bag!  Then she clarified and she said its more! It was just a few yen more, but anyway of course I said ok.  She re-rang up the items and the cash register revealed the three numbers,

like a jackpot,

the digits 6-1-3 showed up!!

613!!!

I got excited at the transaction. As you know 613 is the number of commandments that there are said to be in the Torah!!! As many of you know, from my blog--thank you friends for reading and being on the journey together--- God has been leading me to read and study His Torah since around 4 years ago.

If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

John 14:15

אם אתם אוהבים אותית הרי שתשמרו את מצוותיה

The 613 on the register like that was one of those moments that we all have, when the God of Heaven, Blessed be He, shines His light on a moment.  I knew He was  bringing attention to it because of the above explanation that the number was re-calculated and that is why it got my attention.   I took the receipt where there again where the numbers that I saw on the screen, and the change (since I gave 1013 yen , ), the change was 400 ( another biblicaly significant number representing a divenely perfect period of time!!)

Its my 2 yens worth to share this post,  but it amazes me how sometimes the Almighty God reveals Himself even in the  small change.

So this post is a song of Praise! And thanksgiving.

2.  Seeing Pomegranates after that!

The 613 also connects to Pomegranates, so this is a kind of reverse lead in to the post below!! After that day at the convenience store, I started to see pomegranates in all my local supermarkets and fruit stands, and the way I would see them was like God was `sending` them.  As you also may know from my blog over the years, God speaks to me with fruit in seasons.  I am thankful for that day a few years ago when I first stopped to notice the Israeli grapefruit in the supermarket.

And now when I am finally posting this it is almost Tu B`shevat, the New Year for Trees (more to follow or more HERE!! if I am late again!)

I just am connecting to something we are now reading in the book of Exodus, called Shemot, in Hebrew.  It is significant that  Moses stops to look at the burning bush. It is because he stops and notices and turns around to look, and it is then that God adresses him and gives him his destiny, as well as reveals His name, the great I AM.

In this name He reveals that He is who He is and that He will always be with us in our times of trouble.  This is when He gives Moses the instructions for delivering the people Israel out of Egypt.   I connect all this in my post as the 613 on the screen in the Japanese convenience store and all the fruit.  He asks us to stop and notice and hear what is the purpose and mission we are to carry out.  He plants us in places where we have to see His divinity in the midst of the surroundings.

 3.  And counting...

I think that with showing me the receipt He wanted to confirm that day about my calling that He has given to me to teach Torah because after that I kept on seeing pomegranates in the supermarket!...  (see the Pomegranate posts to follow)   It was just after the 613 incident!!!  As our blogging friend Aritha pointed out in the comments of that post, the pomegranate is said to have 613 seeds representing the 613 mitzvot.

Please see THIS ARTICLE  that she shared for more on the Pomegranate.  As well as feel free to pop in on some of my Pomegranate posts where I also share about the revelations God has showed me over the years in the pomegranate!! The His Israel article is very good as it is all there in one place!!

 4.  Pomegranate Challah and Pomegranate scriptures (to be added, or if I haven`t yet, please share your favorite!!)

I will just end this post with a few of the many beautiful scriptures about Pomegranates in the Tanakh (I just noticed the one below has `400` in it!) !

and the 400 pomegranates for the two lattice works (two rows of pomegranates for each lattice-work to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were upon the top of the pillars).      2 Chronicles 4:13

Let us go out early to the vineyards, let us see if the vine has budded, if their blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates have bloomed--there I will give you my love.  Song of Songs 7:12

Blessings and Shalom!

Pomegranates and a Blossoming `Chai` Challah of Life!

Amen, amen I tell you, he who believes has eternal life.     I am the bread of life.
John 6:47~48

Today`s challah is a Challah of Life!

I call it the Blossoming Chai Challah, and you can see it all started HERE

CHAI is a Hebrew word which means `LIFE` (see header above).

You may have heard it in the famous `toast`,

LE-CHAI-IM, To life!

As I was reading in the last parsashiot of the book of Genesis,  Parasha Vayigash and Parsha Vayechi, I kept seeing that word LIFE!!! Joseph asking `Is my Father still alive`, Jacob asking the same of his son Joseph, and then when the brothers reconcile Joseph tells them it is to `preserve the lives of many` that he was sent to Egypt. And of course, he saved many alive through grain ~~ the `bread` (corn?!)  that he provided for his family and Egypt and all the nations.

And to top it off, the LORD was showing me pomegranates upon pomegranates in the supermarket and fruit stands.  I just had to make the Pomegranate Blossoming Chai Challah !! And kept making them until there were no more pomegranates (and now I found more, so if you would like me to make one for you and you are in Japan, let me know!!).  Every time I open a pomegranate I hear YESHUA`s call to us to be fruitful in Him.  Every time I make a Challah for Shabbat  I taste His goodness and that He is the true Bread of LIFE!  When we drink the cup of redemption with it, we proclaim His LIFE until the day He returns!!

So without further ado, here is my Blossoming Challah of Life in a Challah-cast upload to share with you!!

I will also include my first Blossoming Chai Challah from last year on this Parsha.  It is exciting how the LORD  shows us new things in His word each time.

The third is a short upload I did for my brother, lately I have gotten to know some of the care residents he works with at his job, and have been doing mini Challah-casts for them as they are in lockdown and even their Shabbat time is on hold as they quarrantine in their rooms. It is a blessing to share from Japan to NY and  a special way to connect with my brother who I have not seen for a long time with the travel being restricted.

May we say together these words that are said at the end of each book of Torah,  so perfect for strengthening each other!

CHAZAK, CHAZAK, VENIT CHAZEK!

Be strong, be strong, and let us strengthen one another!

Hope you might enjoy one or all of the Challah of Life and Pomegranate Challah uploads below courtesy of

Pomegranate challah for my brother and friends:

Come, my beloved, Let us go into the open;

Let us lodge among the henna shrubs. Let us go

early to the vineyards; Let us see if the vine has

flowered, if its blossoms have opened, If the

pomegranates are in bloom.

There I will give my love to you.                                       Song of Songs 7:12~13

Chanukah Journal ~~Sevivon Sov, Miracles, Light and Names of God revealed on the dreidel!!

A Great Miracle Happened  THERE

...and the name of the city from that day on shall be "The LORD Is There."  Ezekiel 48:35
סָבִיב, שְׁמֹנָה עָשָׂר אָלֶף; וְשֵׁם-הָעִיר מִיּוֹם, יְהוָה שָׁמָּה

(catching up on posts! and trying out a new font...nice to see you again and a happy new year!)

This year during Chanukah, in additon to wonderful blessed time of sharing on-line  with people from four corners of the globe,  I also had a chance to share several `live` events in my community.

One was an event called "Hikari and Kiseki", which means, Light and Miracles (in Japanese, 光と奇跡).  It was an outdoor Community Dance event.  The playlist included Chanukah songs, Israeli songs, praise songs, and a last minute on the spot addition of Hava Nagila, a traditional Jewish celebration song.

Another event was a dreidel making workshop at the Onigiri Cafe (decorating above).

Another Chanukah activity  highlight was that I designed a special set of `Letters on the Dreidel` Flags for Chanukah this year to use in  dance and in worship, where each flag has one letter from the Dreidel on it!

As you know the four letters on the dreidel-- Nun, Gimel , Hey and Shin--- stand for `NES GADOL HAYA SHAM`, ` A great miracle happened there`.  The powerful message of Chanukah!  This year, God shined a new light for me on these Hebrew letters, and in them I saw a new revelation to bring even more light into this Festival of Light ~~ He revealed  four of His names in them!!

נ Nun stands for Nes, MIRACLE נס  ~~  Name of God revealed in Nes:  ADONAI Nissi, the LORD is my Banner.  Nes means miracle and is also the root word for Nissi, or Banner!, as seen in Exodus 17:15

ג Gimel stands for Gadol, GREAT גדול~~  Name of God revealed in Gadol:  El HaGadol, the LORD is a Great God

ה Hey stands for HAYA, HAPPENED היה~~ Name of God revealed in Haya:   I AM who I AM.  The word Haya is first used in the Torah when God says `Let there be Light` , so this Name of God also reveals the God who speaks everything into existence by His Word !!

ש Shin stands for Sham, THERE שמ~~ Name of God revealed in Sham:   ADONAI Shamah, the LORD is There ,Ezeikel 48:35 (bonus Hebrew insight in this verse, for anyone who wants to take a Hebrew challengs---see Hebrew above at top of post,  this verse also contains the word for `dreidel` in Hebrew!! Can you find it!? A powerful `movement` word with an intriguing line up of scripture)

As we spin the dreidel, as we worship, as we pray, as we move into His feasts and walk in His ways, may we turn the world back to Him!! May we always and continually shine our light, the light of Yeshua, all the days of our lives.  May we re-dedicate ourselves to Him anew in each day.  Giving thanks and all the Glory to God in the name of Yeshua!!

Enjoy one or all of these uploads with a few scenes from the above community events!!!Just a sampling, from  Joanne`s Challah Cast Channel and my new channel, in progress, AHAVA Productions.

Blessings and Love! Shalom upon shalom to you!

Love,

Shayndel

סָבִיב, שְׁמֹנָה עָשָׂר אָלֶף; וְשֵׁם-הָעִיר מִיּוֹם, יְהוָה שָׁמָּה

The week before Chanukah in Oita (catching up!!!)

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and a scepter of justice is the scepter of Your kingdom.

You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness.

Therefore, God, your God, anointed you with the oil of gladness above your companions.

Psalm 45:7~8

(note*  I drafted this post the week before Chanukah, but am getting so late to post it in the weeks after!!)

On Chanukah, we commemorate the miracle of light and victory in battle that God gave to the small band of Maccabbees who stood up for the God of Israel and re-dedicated the Temple and thus Jerusalem back to Him!!!

As I read the book of Maccabbees for the first time this year I am amazed that growing up we never read this, but at the same time also amazed how much we know it even from not having read it.  All Jewish people know the story of Chanukah, but like me I think many have never read it, as its not part of the inspired and revealed books in the Tanakh or in the Bible.

I have always known about the Greek`s desecration of the temple and the altar, but to read about it  brings it alive, as well as it seems to come so close to the world we are in today, where so much of our `culture` has sought to desecrate the Godly and bring desecration to the pure oil of God`s Torah.

Chanukah is a joyous time of 8 days of celebrating the victory that God gave to the Jewish people led by Judah Macabbee,  and of course the miracle of the oil that supernaturally burned for 8 days.   The light of Yeshua is revealed and I will even say released, in the Feasts of the LORD.  This year may His light be revealed as we light the candles and may the Jewish people know their Messiah and be given power from on high to walk into the Messianic Truth that our LORD Yeshua is the long awaited Messiah.  May His oil of gladness pour forth and blessings on Israel and the nations!!!

Blessings and Shalom in 2021!  Nice to see you again!!

Catching up for a few more posts! Trying out a new font!
