One day she noticed
she just couldn’t keep up.
The news and the pictures kept coming so fast.
Pretty soon they were coming a minute after they happened,
then while they were happening.
And one day she saw that the news and pictures started to come even before the events themselves.
That’s how out of hand it all was.
And people would go into panic and sadness and despair even before the things happened,
because that’s how fast the news and pictures were coming.
She didn’t have the device though that they were seeing them on so she decided to just focus and believe in the goodness that she could see outside her window.
She walked into that view, and greeted the people she saw right there.
She even smiled.
She didn’t take a picture because she started to see what was happening with the pictures.
You could see the way it was all heading. One day what seemed inevitable happened. She saw the news and pictures of the destruction. Everything was gone, bleak.
But there was still the view she saw outside and the people were smiling and greeting each other.
And the huge tree was sprouting leaves. New and multi-colored. And water was flowing and people were inhabiting the land and all things were being made new.
The former things
had passed
away.
There was a river of the water of life, bright as crystal, down the middle of the city street, and on either side of the river was a tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit…
